Title Index

The Title index lists objects first by classification and then alphabetically by the titles under which they are known. These may include transliterated titles, variant titles, and English translations. This is especially important for books, which often bear different titles on the cover, title page, preface, running title “hashira-dai,” or colophon within the same volume, or a distinct title for an individual volume within a larger set. As a result, a single object may appear under more than one title.
