Category Index

The Category Index organizes objects according to shared function, subject, topic, genre, and other characteristics. Because a single object may belong to more than one category, it may appear under multiple headings in the index. These categories may fall within broader classifications such as “Painting,” “Book,” or “Print,” or may also cut across them. Entries are arranged alphabetically, with priority given to transliterated titles. Objects known by multiple titles are listed more fully in the Title Index.
